The Steer and Swine market auction is the end result of the 4-H and FFA Youth Member’s year-long project. It is an educational experience, as well as a business venture resulting in a terminal market sale. The Exhibitors have a “hands-on” experience while learning all about the beef and pork markets. They discover what agriculture production is all about and the kind of responsibility necessary to survive in it.

The Exhibitors have selected, fed, and groomed their steer and/or hog for competition and marketing. At this terminal market sale, everyone hopes to receive better prices than the current market prices. All livestock go directly to a licensed contracted processing plant. A cut and wrap sheet will be presented to the buyers for their choice cut and wrap process
Having community support at the auction makes it possible for the Exhibitors to receive recognition and the motivation to earn and save college funds or to buy more animals and possibly start their own herd. Many youth go through this program and come out as great leaders, educators, and responsible adults.
